Coming February 17-18 2011: X-Class solar flare with lots of Aurora Borealis activity..
The world is still pondering the instance in which the sun erupted with the mightiest solar flare in year..
And yes, it will hit earth's magetic field..
And already the night of February 15, 2011, the solar flare is causing some chaos in China with shortwave radio communications..
It may not be like the darkest night of 1859, but sunspot 1158 is still building .. and it's looking prime to unleash yet more solar activity..

AMAZING OCCURENCES IN THE SKY.. Meteors over the East Coast today.. a solar flare making its way to earth.. and the night of February 15, 2011, the sky is filled with a bright moon over the East with a large halo gracing the sky.. Messages from above or simply tricks of nature, making us believe something is in charge...? Or it means nothing at all, besides having some meteorological purpose... We don't know. But by God we are watching the skies with added care these days..

Even Twitter has noticed the halo around the moon..

STRANGE STREAKS IN THE SKY REPORTED ALONG THE EAST COAST

Staring at the sun!? This is a NASA image of the massive solar flare that burst out of sunspot region 1158, and it's amazing

God bless Richard McHale and may he forever rest in peace

Any day now: A boy is on the way. We're anxiously awaiting Ayden Morris to arrive on the crust of the earth.. Schmuckraker will alert readers when the little schmuck arrives.. pray for me and my wife as we head into a trying week of anticipation!

Win one for the comptuer: IBM's "Watson" beats out humans on Jeopardy.. And for any human watching the epic battle this week, it's time to get nervous. This is the future?..a time when computers beat out humans on a regular basis? Maybe a day in which people have no more epic battles with each other. But what would the prize be!? Computers need not cash or even credit.. instead perhaps a steady supply of bits and bytes will suffice. In the end, we're slaves to the machine. And this machine named Watson made a slave of two contestants along with a host named Trebek..

  • A MAJOR SUNSPOT DEVELOPED THIS PAST WEEKEND WITH A POWERFUL FLARE PUTTING EARTH IN THE CROSSHAIRS.. The sunspot region was barely visible only one week ago, until February 13 when a massive development took place on the sun..
It is now the strongest solar flare observed in 2011.. The story is developing, and there is a good chance a beautiful aurora borealis will develop this week and get only more intense as the days go on..

This image was taken was taken during a geomagnetic storm most likely caused by a coronal mass ejection from the sun on May 24, 2010.. It was located over the Southern Indian Ocean..

There is information that the next several days may see more solar eruptions..

The solar flare has suspended part of radio communications in Korea..

    Class of its own: X-Class..
    Watching for satellite disruption..
Flashback just yesterday: "Unlikely" to cause communications problems..

  • Dying at the desk is given a whole new meaning in Los Angeles as an LA County employee died at her desk on Friday but no one noticed until the day after.. One police officer said that the last time someone say her alive was Friday morning.. no one asked her what she wanted for lunch? No one checked on her throughout the day? Not even her boss or a co-worker wished her a good weekend at day's end? Foul play is not suspected in the 51-year-old's tragic demise.. but headlines across the nation being read by many people in offices that wonder if they, like her, would be left for dead by those who work with them..

Always the real thing? Just when you thought it was safe to think that your secret ingredient was safe forever, here comes internet attention to a possible 'secret' recipe for Coca Cola making its way across the world.. And no, it's not cocaine.. Instead it's most likely something more unhealthy than that!

There is new concern over a 'carrier killer' Chinese weapon that the Navy fears could threatn US carriers.. With China making such a vast amount of United States weapons already for the military, you would have thought that we would have just asked them to make us a carrier killer too..

Inflation is rising in the UK..

Wild and crazy Romans.. The dark origins of Valentine's Day documented by NPR..

Is this what happens when someone is out of ideas, or is this the image of someone who has more than anyone else? On Sunday's Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga arrived in style: In an egg.. As her spokessomethings told Ryan Seacrest, Ms. Gaga was incubating in her ..womblike type egg.. She apparently had enough air, however, to pop from the egg and perform a Madonna-like song called BORN THIS WAY.. While Lady Gaga wasn't born in an egg, it made a scene at the awards..

Not at all a big shock as authorities warn that kids drinking too many 'energy' drinks can actually die from them if not be seriously hurt..

    There are 'frostquakes' in Ohio..

    And
food prices are about to burst.

Besides that, love is in the air.. Restaurants, maybe, are filled. Flowers, maybe, have been watered.. Edible arrangements, perhaps, have been arranged and delivered.. and tonight, maybe, the male species is getting what he wants most: A woman to love him... But take from my site the very notion of Valentine's Day and all of its ridiculous nonsense..

I guess you can say Iran handles things just a little bit differently than Egypt: Iranian lawmaker is condemning anti-government protests and pleading for the leaders of it to be executed

And if you've been a reader of this website for any period of time you most likely notice a enormous difference in the design.. I actually gave up the blog form the site in favor of an old fashioned pure code-only approach. How long it lasts is anyone's guess.. any long-time readers will attest to the fact that changes on this site are constant.. redesigns also occur, and then old designs come back after redesigns go awry.. But maybe it's the basic coded site that is the most pure, the most interesting.. and the most 'me.' After all, I am sloppy at heart, messy at best, and filled with a vast amount of interest in news, space, time, and trouble. God bless you all my readers.. and hope for the best. Either way check with Schmuckraker and get the best, and worst, of the world at larg e..
