Within the McCain camp: The Palin insurgency!

Mike Segar/Reuters
She's gonna make it after all!

The POLITICO's Ben Smith reporting that increasingly tense campaign stops have greeted Sarah Palin and her aides.. Former Bush aides tasked to handle and control Palin have reported to the POLITICO that she increasingly is on her own, often blaming the handlers for her tarnished public image. One senior Republican aide told Smith for his report that Palin intends to go "rogue" and get even more "rogue" at campaign events.

And what if John McCain would have chosen Tom Ridge? Perhaps things would be a lot closer in Pennsylvania..

And speaking of the Keystone State, MSNBC's FIRST READ reporting that the Obama team feels PA is theirs to lose..

Some random rakings from around the random world

  • As the election nears .. and soon will be at a close, the Christian right is intensifying its attacks on Barack Obama .. such tactics as talking about Obama ending the Boy Scouts, instituting nationalized gay marriage, and Israel getting hit with a nuke attack due to the election..
  • I read this a few times--and intend to use it to my benefit when my wife complains after we eat spicy food: The smell in flatulence actually may help control blood pressure!
  • John McCain's brother, Joe, says sorry for calling 911 to complain about traffic.."Well, it's not an emergency, but do you know why on one side at the damn drawbridge of 95 traffic is stopped for 15 minutes and yet traffic's coming the other way?" Joe McCain said. .. The entire family seems angry.
  • McCain volunteer that made up backwards B now in police custody..
  • According to UK DAILY MAIL, Madonna and Guy Richie's marriage ended after she started scheduling sex around her gym life..

Three states, three bad polls for the McCain camp

The ghost of Ron Paul haunting McCain in Montana

It's going to be a lot harder for McCain to win Montana as long as Ron Paul continues to poll as high as he is.. Revenge of the libertarians gold and silver state..

    THE BACKWARDS 'B' CON JOB

    CBS NEWS/AP
While she may not be the Schmuck of the week by its best definition, she is the prevaricator of the week. Yesterday, when the Drudge Report led the site on Ashley Todd, a 20-year-old McCain volunteer that claimed she was attacked, and that a B was carved on her face, other websites picked it up. Even the SCHMUCKRAKER made reference to it in its random rakings section yesterday.. But now it turns out, as some online suspected, the story of Ashley Todd has gone down in flames .. it was false, according to police investigating the incident.

Perhaps the backwards B should have.. well, tipped everyone off?

She told police Wednesday that she was attacked by a black male.. Today she can't explain why she made the story up.. AP suggests that police were initially suspicious, again, because the B on her face was backwards.

She says that she doesn't remember carving the B on her own face, but admits that she must have since the rest of the mugging/mutilation story was false..

A morbidly twisted tale, the ends even more on the morbid note.. My hope is that she makes a quick recovery, and that she has mental analysis done. And that the media leaves her family alone--and leaves her alone.

Something about this story is very sad...

The other interesting aspect of the Ashley Todd story: Drudge vs Wonkette.. Wonkette won.

Can't wait for this election to end. It's been weird.

The random news. .from the random world.. And the broke world

    FINANCIAL/USA-HOUSING REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque/Files
Jobs cuts sweeping across corporate America as the nation appears to slide deeper into a major slump.. or recession as the experts say. To us, it just sucks..

It's good to know that as 401Ks slip away, Alan Greenspan is denying anything was his fault, though he admits a "flaw"!

Signs? McCain to skip out on his election night party while Obama plans major bash. Too early, Barack?

New data suggests Obama lead grew to 12 points..

    McCain volunteer attacked in Pittsburgh..

Everybody needs to calm down, chill out.. and breathe. It's almost November 5, and I pray this will all be over then.. No more ads, no more stump speeches.. no more!! I've had enough!

But ohh..about that Sarah Palin wardrobe..
    No! Enough!!

    "She needed them."

Hard hitting "news": Miley Cyrus avoids answering questions on dating..

"W" goes across the pond: Oliver Stone pic debuts in UK..

A giant spider attacks bird.. and gets filmed doing it..

The Fabulous Phillies won their first game of the world series..
And I'm really sick of the words "Joe the plumber."

That's all for now.. sick. And tired.. But had a great time away from everything. With news back in my life, I feel depressed again..

But there's always the weather: Where speculation exists that winter may pretty much start next week in the Northeast

One year ago today at noon, Tara and I got married.. and one year flew by since. Not because of bad, but because of work, life.. normal worries. Things that don't matter in life.. What really matters in life in life is love, spirit, fate. What really matters is hope.. What really matters is the journey we are all on, one that takes us on the same paths often, but on lonely paths other times. But with you, Tara, my time has not been lonely. It also has not been without hope and love, you have inspired more since October 20, 2007.

And now as leaves fall, and Autumn turns into Winter, we will dream of Spring, when all gets reborn. And through it all, love never dies, even as those cold winds start to blow through trees outside.

I'm going away for a long deserved one and a half day vacation with my wife as we celebrate one year of marriage.. And like always, my timing in impeccable: A beach during the .. fall? How cold is this going to be!!? Lucky enough, the weather appears to be headed for warm days in New Jersey .. our brief stint will be over before we know it, but that seems to be the pattern: One year of marriage flew by with the click of a finger and a blink of an eye. Wish us some good thoughts as we head to Long Beach Island .. and hopefully have a romantic dinner at a restaurant that chose to stay open this long into the season. But in the meantime, the random world as we know it this morning:

Vladimir Putin tries satellite navigation--on his black lab..

According to the AP, President Bush, with just three months left in office, will host an international summit to discuss ways to fix the world financial system ..

In the meantime, Oliver Stone's "W" doing very well at weekend box office, pulling in cash from viewers age 35 and older..

Does he mean DELIVERANCE!? McCain's aide says he is strong in "real Virginia"

Biden to Democrats: Don't be too confident.. This word of warning comes amid news that Barack Obama is preparing his Cabinet!

And NEWSWEEK MAG is warning that Obama better remember that America is largely conservative..

    Newspaper endorsement race: Strongly Obama
