If the meat don't kill ya, the the pig brain removal may

Mystery in Minnesota..

11 slaughterhouse employees in St. Paul have become sick, developing numbness, tingling, and / or other neurological symptoms..

All the workers shared one common bond: The practice of working at the "head table"... the table in which pigs heads were cut off and compressed air forced the brains out.

Health officials say that the employees may have inhaled the brain particles causing their own neurological problems.

Quality Pork, the AP tells us, has not stopped using the compressed air method for release of the pig brains. Some workers, at least one there as long as 15 years, told the AP that they were told there is a possibility they can never work again.

The AP reports that Quality Pork has 1300 employees, and it's unclear how many worked at the head table.

The AP describes the process in graphic detail:
"In a rapid-fire process that is noisy, smelly and bloody, severed pigs' heads are cut up at the head table at a rate of more than 1,100 an hour. Workers slice off the cheek and snout meat, then insert a nozzle in the head and blast air inside until the light pink mush that is the brain tissue squirts out from the base of the skull.."

And finally, one last frightening sentence from the AP report: "Quality Pork has not said what it does with the pork brains."

Mind over matter.. mind over matter.. Mind in the matter?

Bush gives out wrong phone number during speech

He wanted to give hope. But then gave out the wrong phone number for the "Hope Hot Line" for homeowners.

And the mortgage meltdown continues to melt...

While the major media makes a fool of the Commander and Chief in error, it's an easy one to forgive: Of all the Bush mistakes, this is the one most commonly made by all Americans .. instead of giving a 1-888, he read it 1-800.

Either way, he erred. But forgiveable. At least it wasn't a 900 number..

Andrew Sullivan asking a very good question about Romney's speech today on religion

Romney defends his candidacy today.. creates press.. defends his Mormonism and asks ot be judged according to his record. And as Andrew Sullivan asks, was his photo op on purpose..? Mr. Sullivan, you may just be on to something.. It is strangely similar. But could he have truly staged such a good photo op..?

Probably not. But Romney did one thing by this speech today, he may have stopped the Huckabee surge.

And the warmth begins

There's been a few storms in the East lately.. but the warm weather is coming. Really. The predictors predicted it. Even I thought it would be this way--though I am not educated in the weather world, I got my acquired knowledge with research, studying patterns, and watching the Weather Channel since I was 12 (a wonder I even found a wife!) But my favorite weathercaster Henry Margusity is reminding us tonight: "Winter is not over!!!!!!!"

Clinton, Obama: I guess it's satire

ABC news story illustrating how candidates Obama and Hillary are beginning to trade places in positions uses image of candidates in opposite clothing..

The graphic, an ABC illustration, received not only raised eyebrows across the web but also confused eyebrows..

One commnet on the ABC story read, "It sure does look like ABC news is in the tank for Hillary. If anyone has some sort of explaination to the picture of Obama in a Dress I would like to hear it. Its and insult to Obama and making him look weak. Even further is ABC News believe women in dresses look weak, which is the context of their rationale for the picture in the first place"..

Paulalooza

Getting a lot of emails on RONPALAPOOZA... I am not the creator of the site, to answer a few of you.. You will have to contact Matt Jarfi for info on where the plans are at.. I only knew what was reported here this past weekend.

But I did check the poll today. 95% of the respondents on the site--though the poll is unscientific--would attend the event..

New Ron Paul related event gaining notoriety

If you thought Ron Paul mania had waned in any way, you're mistaken.. The phenomenon of Doctor Paul is yet to be understood by the candidates, and many times even the media. However, the meet up groups across the nation have a deeper conviction: The interestingly and vastly different cross section of society is on its own, doing what it can to make Doctor Paul's campaign get rich, do well in the primaries, and rock the campaign as we know it.. A new Paul-related plan has emerged online, and is gaining notoriety. Matthew Jarfi put up a website yesterday, http://ronpaulapalooza.com/, offering a vision of what he hopes will be a Ron Paul festival of music, freedom, and all things Paul. Jarfi told the Schmuckraker late last night that he hopes the plan "transpires to be the most amazing event in American History." Jarfi said he is looking for people willing to help. He's also looking for those who have had experience pulling off big events. Maybe Jarfi should contact John Mayer? The jury's still out on the singer's support.

No dates have been set. No arenas have been thought.. It's only a concept. Ron Paul's campaign began the same way, as well. A concept of a new course for the Republican party. The media dismissed him has a waste of time fringe candidate.. The internet and his legions of supporters said different. What began as a campaign of one man is evolving into a mini-revolution, led by the power of the online world. As Ron Paul said the other night during the You Tube debate, his campaign really isn't paying many people to help him. It's volunteer based. And that's what Mr. Jarfi imagines for his Woodstock-like event. It's unclear if the event is just a hope, or if it comes to fruition. But it's a good illustration of the amount of fan-based planning coming from the voters rather than the candidate.. A large group of people with scattered points of view are in the mix. 9-11 Truthers, 9-11 agreeers. Obama supports turned Paulomaniacs.. The youth online, on Myspace, on You Tube. No problem. Their points of view are so worldy different, but somehow they've managed to gather support behind Doctor Paul, with his anti-war small government message. How far the entire Paul 'revolution' goes remains to be seen. The Iowa Caucasus not far away.. New Hampshire coming soon. Paul would have to score pretty big knockouts to remain viable. A revolution can end quick if a candidate loses. But with the constant battle of ideas online, plus events like the possible future "Paulapalooza," Ron Paul's story will remain newsworthy for some time to come.
