HE'S IN! BARACK OBAMA ENTERS PRESIDENTIAL RACE!

Let the excitement begin (and maybe end quickly??)
Message from Barack Obama from his website..

The amazing race begins.. The truly interesting thing is how much pre-announcement excitemnet Obama has been able to create.. It's also interesting how uninterested the media appears to be with the likely candidate: Hillary Clinton...

Also equally interesting my opinion how absolutely uninterested the media and everyone else seems to be with the most exciting candidates from two elections ago: John McCain. Maybe it's due to the fact he wanted to increase troops even higher than what President Bush is planning to. Maybe it's because all of the excitment is lopsided on the side of the Democrats.. Mitt Romney has his opening..

Amazing, chilling photos of a crowded womb

...Everybody's got a story.. A brand new book with every chapter different. An entire society so much different.. but so much the same.

Some have long nights.. Sleepless and tearful.. Some are happy.. Some sleep without worry..

It's amazing.. It's exceptionally amazing, how every life that passes you by, every single person that passes you on a crowded street corner, every stranger walking the highway late at night thumbing a ride.... They all have a story.

Some violent. Some vile. Some amazing... Many heros and heroines walk among us. Average day saviors. People that came and went through someone else's life like a whirlwind but changed it more anyone would have ever anticipated..

Every family that sits for dinner at a table, whether in their home or a noisy crowded restaurant, has a history. A history of laughs and pain---so much ungodly pain can exist in those families..

Behind every smile or frown is an entire story of something .. A vast array of memories.. A huge volume of words can be written about each life that surrounds us on this earth..

Every person in front of you in a line at the bank has a family. Every old man that sits on a bench watching his last days as a human fly by has a life of memories and laughs and tears. Every lonely soul had friends..

Everyone has loved someone.. At some time. And some are left with no love in the end. They either chose it or accept it.

Snowy days, cold nights, sunny days.. days at the beach, sleigh rides in a forest.... long drives home for Christmas.. Bouquets of flowers on Easters past.. Cookouts on the Fourth of July..

Fights with families.
Laughs.
Bullies in school..

We all share such common ground but don't know it..

We are all walking on the same path. But to where!? To damnation!? To peace? .. or just more war.

There are veterans among us. The man or woman with wrinkles a nickel deep in their aged face .. They saw more than we ever could imagine. Prisoners.. Hostages..

We all lose our parents. We all lose those we love.

Some never had parents.. Some lost their chilren. They will never forget that chapter of their story nor get through it without being forever altered.

We all lose role models. After all, we all have them.

We all have had too much to drink..
We all need one now and then.

And then, just when we think we know someone, we can find out the truth: We know hardly anything about anyone.. Just as life can be predictable the unpredictable can happen. And does.

So next time you sit next to a stranger or pass one on the street, remember: They all had nights too long to handle. They all had a lover.. They all laughed. And hurt. And they may just hurting when you see them, even if a smile forms on their face.

Behind their cold eyes can be a warm heart.. Behind their eyes can be one dark.

Everybody has a story.

An amazing fact in a life filled with clutter and noise. Suspend the noise. And read the story...at least what you're allowed to read.

Major ice storm slams the United States..
It's a storm to remember.. but those living through it all hope they forget it as soon as they possibly can...

A major winter storm producing inches of ice and lots of misery--including deaths across the American Midwest--is inching eastward .. The East Coast seeing extreme warm temperatures again and rain..

But the death toll is mounting through many states... power out to thousands--hundreds of thousands..

Over 300,000 thousands customers in the dark in Missouri..

Stores are actually running out of ice melt!

And all the while.. more cold builds up in Canada.. poised to come South.. poised to make those warm days of January a distant memory..

They just can't get this right..
First the animal-mentality of the Saddam Hussein beheading and now this: Reporters shown video by Iraqi government of the execution of Saddam's half brother and other co-defendant hanged..

The noose actually beheaded Saddam's half brother.. the video is told to show his headless body under the noose while he head was yards away..

The executions were free from the shouting and taunting that greeted Saddam when he was hanged..

Sunnis are claiming that Saddam's half brother was "mutilated"..

The event was supposed to further the process of democracy.. Instead the botched execution is further fanning flames of warfare in a country that doesn't need any more....

The execution/beheading took place in the same chamber where Saddam was put to death days ago..

Video is not expected to be released.. But then again, neither was video of Saddam..

Martin Luther King Day 2007

The dream not yet fulfilled.. time to go. We're making progress. We are all connected.

Sunday night boredom..
My finace went home... I had too much coffee.. I can't sleep. Cleaned the stove, ran the sweeper.. scrubbed the sink.. still not tired. So I dug out an old tape I bought back in the late 80s.. Hulkamania 3..(yes there must have be two more before this that I never had)...

The main storyline is how Hulk Hogan matched up against Andre the Giant.. Memorable wrestling images. Brings me back to my youth.. back when wrestling was breast-free and not nearly as violent--and a lot more entertaining--than it is now..

Or maybe I feel that because it was one of those goofy parts of my youth.. a time when nothing really mattered much and I had few worries. The days of King Kong Bundy, the Ultimate Warrior, Sgt Slaughter, the Iron Shiek, and a show my sister and I watched religiously every Monday night with popcorn: Monday Night Prime Time Wreslting.. (Sean Mooney actually ended up on a New York local news station in the late 90s, haven't seen him since..)

Ok. No more coffee.

Tale of the tube..
You Tube making news and maybe ruining someone, yet again..

This time Paula Abdul.

A video that was posted appears to show Abdul slurring and murmuring her way through an itnerview..

Some viewers commented that she should check into rehab after seeing the You Tube video. She is also canceling other interviews in the wake of the Tubing..

And of course.. you can see the video here:

Miracle in Missouri ..
Finally some good news in the world--it actually does exist now and then..

And not just good news but a miracle--and a relief for two families..

13-year-old Ben Ownby was missing for a few days.. Now 16-year-old Shawn Hornbeck was missing for years--missing since he was 11.

Both found in the same apartment owned by Michael Devlin..

..both safe..both wanted food..

Complete and total euphoria in Missouri..

Bush's words: "Well, no question, decisions have made things unstable"
..Developing story.. and something that will cause eyebrows to go high on heads across D.C. and other world capitols.. President Bush admits on CBS's 60 MINUTES interview that the situation in Iraq could lead to further attacks.. continues to admit mistakes.. But continues to strongly defend his position on removing Saddam Hussein from power--though he said he didn't watch the Saddam death since he believes it was "discouraging" for progress...

More from CBS..

More from Drudge..

Pervading Halloween..
I was pretty distraught to read this Aint It Cool story today about the Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN remake..

Young Michael Myers masturbates to photos of animals he killed.. his mother is a stripper.. he talks as an adult with the mask on.. He gropes a nude woman before slashing her.. High-amount of gore and nudity included with script that AICN saw.. Rob Zombie strikes again..

It sounds like Rob Zombie is truly about to ruin the last horror movie I can still watch as an adult and enjoy. The point of the original HALLOWEEN is a "shape" silently passing through a town to stalk someone--the mystery revealed in Halloween 2.

But as usual, expect a highly violent nude and gore fest that may have to be classified as torture porn like BLACK CHRISTMAS or the HILLS HAVE EYES remake, coupled with loud and repetitive music that will make you cringe not because of fear but because of a sheer desire to get out of the theatre and leave.. The only hope is that very early comments on AICN are all against this film so far, too...

Despite all that, it's probably safe to assume it is just going to be another movie that will go too far but didn't have to.

By the way, Rob Zombie did respond on his Myspace page..

So did fans, some of whom weren't very kind..

The Bush photo the White House WILL let you see..
The White House broke with tradition this past week and didn't allow news photographers to catch images of President Bush while he addressed the nation. Instead, the White House took their own photo and gave it to news wires to release.. The news wires rejected the White House, forcing most news outlets and newspapers to run a fuzzy TV capture of Bush during his speech..
