HOURS ON I81: MAJOR TRAFFIC PROBLEMS CAUSE MAJOR ANGER IN PENNSYLVANIA

ROAD CLOSURES CONTINUE IN PENNSYLVANIA Some cars stuck along Interstate 81 for up to 17 hours.. Stories of wives, fathers, mothers, sons, children, all stuck in a massive traffic jam with hundreds upon hundreds of cars.. Several people across many parts of Pennsylvania have put blame on Governor Rendell.. some on Penn DOT.. some on drivers that went out in the great Valentine's Day snowstorm of 2007..

Many people ran out of gas.. several needed medicine.. Even more headed for hotels right after getting off the Interstate..

Governor Rendell's spokeswoman Kate Phillips responding to claims that the Governor didn't declare a state of emergency or call out the National Guard until it was too late: "At this point, Mother Nature is the only one to blame"

Rendell declares Disaster Emergency in all of Pennsylvania..

Major roads begin to slowly open..

State police are still telling drivers in Pennsylvania: Stay off the roads... overtime being worked as Penn DOT tries to clear highways...

Stories of new friendships along Interstate 81.. people that didn't even know one another finding companionship as they were stuck for as much as 16 hours together.. stories of motorists eating snow so they wouldn't become dehydrated.. Crews on four wheelers arriving with food at some points during the ordeal..

..One eyewitness told the Schmuckraker that while he was driving home from work on Interstate 81 before the road started being shut down, it was a game of bobbind and weaving in between jacknifed trucks, abandoned cars, and people walking along the highway..
