It's over. Not officially...not really. But for today...
After a month of media speculation--which in most respects turned out to be dead wrong--Scooter Libby was indicted today by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald...

After 22 months of a special investigation, a 55 year-old now former Chief of Staff (as of today) faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1.25 million fine...
While Democrats were heralded today as "Fitzmas," it's still being hotly debated on blogs and the net and news world tonight whether Father Fitzmas himself stuck coal in their stockings...
Republicans have come to the edge of being critical of Fitzgerald and just outrightly attacking him...Sean Hannity questioning him on his radio show today for three solid hours, interviewing Mary Matalin, a friend and former co-worker of Libby in Cheney's office, who offered some good wholesome and warmhearted stories of a solid, strong, and moral Libby giving up a life of riches for a life of losses and service to the public...
But during Father Fitzmas' press conference today, which went on for over an hour, the prosecutor gave no mercy in his outright condemnation of Scooter.
And finally, it's still not "over" over...Fitzgerald saying: Is the investigation finished? It's not over," Fitzgerald said at a news conference. "But … very rarely do you bring a charge in a case that's going to be tried in which you ever end a grand jury investigation. I can tell you that the substantial bulk of the work of this investigation is concluded"

While the events today were not nearly as dramatic as so many in the media had predicted, and in many cases hoped, blogs and news sites tonight are adding their perspectives...
