It’s amazing how everyone apparently knows the outcome of the Patrick Fitzgerald investigation before me. He didn’t name indicted or unindicted yet, though liberals have proclaimed it’s “Fitzmas!” Conservatives have already began a private whispering campaign that Fitzgerald went beyond the scope of his investigation, saying that he started by looking into the actual leak but turned the inquiry into who lied about the leak that they say may not have been a crime anyway!

News reporters have had a field day, too…the New York TIMES—though somewhat at the heart of the story with the Judith Miller fiasco—has been breaking news that’s fit to print yet again…today their latest story told an interesting story of how Cheney Chief of Staff Scooter Libby found out who Valerie Plame was, not from journalists and reports say he said, but instead from Dark Sith Lord himself: Dick Cheney!

Was that to be true, it’s next to meaningless…both are privy to national security secrets, and Fitzgerald would have to assert that Cheney somehow broke a law and conspired to release Plame’s name. That is unless Fitzmas goes for blood and indict for a possible coverup…

But on a day when RAWSTORY.COM said Fitzgerald was about to name indicted Administration officials, when journalists and papers speculated on who it would be, and when both political aisles are getting their talking points ready, I can only sit back and wonder: How did everyone found out besides me??
