We thought we'd never hear it...endless amounts of bad movies later, the Hollywood studio executives that brought us just so many horrible awful movies come clean about why exactly the box office slump is occuring: It's their movies!
The LA TIMES story documenting their admission also mentions the movies STEALTH and BEWITCHED. I saw neither one of them...though I had no inclination to even buy a ticket for them. STEALTH was advertised so heavy you'd think the Bush administration had a stake in it...But even though it was constant--for months--seeing that evil plane and that endless preview, no one went to the damn movie! And believe me, it's not because they downloaded it at home, it's because they wanted to stay away from crap...
Period.

Celebrate, we said!!
There was just something about this AP story that made me sick: The story talks about a pro-Communism party in Beijing...56 years of Commi Pinko rule in China...the AP says crowds "enthusiastically waved Chinese flags" at the celebration...a grand old time. The AP reports, "human rights groups said authorities have been expelling people with grievances from the capital to prevent disruptions, a common move during politically sensitive periods."
Of course. Commonplace indeed.
The news account of the event goes on to say that the country is enjoying the benefits of two decades of rapid economic growth but still facing deep-seated 'social problems'...
"Social problems?" Is that what the AP calls it? I'd call it a totalitarian dictatorship that is eating up fossil fuels, has no regard for human rights, the environment, and is stomping down on any attempt for a free press of bloggers online. I would hardly call it a "social problem." This AP story explained only the propaganda and hardly tried to discount it. They complain about the Bush Administration's attempt to advertise their medicare programs--and rightfully so--but for some reason seem uneager to counter the corruption and sadness that so many Chinese have under the harsh government rule..
