SEARCHING FOR A GOOD REVIEW: KEATON'S WHITE NOISE GETTING TRASHED BY CRITICS
HORROR-REPORT
January 6, 2005
WHITE NOISE...the reviews are almost as bad as the annoying trailers on TV and in theaters, which have been played for months before the release of the Michael Keaton flick...
With a dreadful Rotten Tomatoes rating of 13% positive, WHITE NOISE is being utterly trashed in paper and on the net...
Florida paper writes: "Keaton once had some credibility as an actor. He was, at the very least, Batman. Now he's relegated to playing bland dad in not the first but the second lame presidential-offspring movie of 2004 (First Daughter), and appearing in dull trash like this. Let's take a moment to mourn the career of Keaton -- soon to be seen in the ill-advised Herbie: Fully Loaded!"
BOX OFFICE MAG says of the film, "....like its namesake, it just puts you to sleep."
Indianapolis STAR says dead people can't bring the film to life..."In the end, you may find yourself thinking about a more practical use for white noise: It helps you sleep."
FILM JERK hits: "Michael Keaton gives it a game attempt, but “White Noise” is almost breathless in its idiocy."
USA TODAY opines, "Keaton's ominous 'White Noise' makes an awful racket" in blaring headline...
WHITE NOISE debuts in 2,258 theaters Friday...
